Newsletter 27th January 2023

Happy Friday!

We hope you had a great week. It has been a busy one here as the children are fully immersed in their various topics and working towards the end of half-term. We are looking forward to sharing with you their outcomes on 10th February.

Here is a photo of some of the work Year 6 have been doing this week - they have created their own detective boards, collecting clues to solve the mystery from their text 'Beetle Boy'.

Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Ms Orla

Friends of JKPS

As you may be aware, Laurie and Shivali are rotating off the FoJKPS Committee this year; Laurie as of this month, Shivali in July. On behalf of the entire school community, we would like to thank them for their tireless effort and endless enthusiasm. They have been instrumental in bringing so many initiatives to life, delivering brilliant events and raising an incredible amount of funds for the school. We thank them for their tremendous contribution to our school – an impact that will be felt by JKPS students and families for years to come.

At the AGM, a group of 5 parents were nominated to take on shared responsibilities as co-chairs. They are: Donnacha O'Shea, Jenny Foster, Jane Dutton, Celeste Hicks and Paula Rocktaschel. We’ll hear more from this group in the coming weeks and months, but for now we thank them for stepping forward.

We’re sure they will do a brilliant job, and we can’t wait to hear their plans for the next phase of FoJKPS!

Mog Chronicle

The Mog Chronicles is BACK! We are looking for Year 5 and 6 budding journalists to sign up to be a part of the Mog Chronicle, our very own JKPS Newspaper. If you have a voice, have something to say, if you are interested in our community and want to work on your interviewing and writing skills, please sign up on classroom! It will be held every Monday from 3.30 - 4.30.

Finally, if you are an adult and wish to volunteer to help with the club, please email Ms Katie via the office.
