Newsletter 10th February 2023

Dear Everyone,

Just like that, and we are halfway through the year! It has been a busy week with parents' evening and preparing for our writing celebration. We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to sharing with you the events we have planned for next term! Thank you so much to all the parents and carers who came in for the writing celebration this afternoon - the children were so proud to show off their work. Well done to the children too, for their amazing Karneval costumes!!

We wish you all a safe and good half term, and look forward to seeing you on Monday 20th February.

Ms Keri, Assistant Headteacher

Please keep an eye on your emails for our Curriculum Newsletters!

Each Curriculum Newsletter will be sent today to showcase the learning opportunities your child has experienced this term, as you can see here for Year 6.

We thank you for the wonderful home learning this term and please keep up with your amazing learning at home!

For the Herne Hill Literature Festival this term, Year 1 and 2 also had an opportunity to meet a real author! They met Margaret Bateson-Hill who wrote the story Lao Lao of Dragon Mountain. This book was inspired by the Chinese craft of paper cutting.

Don't worry Year 4, 5 and 6, your authors will be on the way next term as they were delayed due to the train strikes!

Share-a-thon fundraising for our JPKS Library!

Instead of buying new books, we want you to share and celebrate the books you have. Share with your family and friends to support less waste!

{alt_tag}

After half term, your child will be bringing home their Share-a-thon sponsorship form. In this form we would like your child to choose how many books you could share with family and friends to support fundraising for our school Library. Our aim is to focus on purchasing books with authors, content and key messages which celebrate diversity and inclusion. See if you can make a list this term of how many people you could share books with!

Message from Friends of JKPS!

Dear Families,

We are delighted to have launched our HomeRun App Network for our school community which will help families and staff to use active travel, and supporting our parent’s and pupil’s transport requirements. The more people sign up, the more effective it will be, and the Friends will get a donation if enough people sign up.

Please follow the link below to sign up to our private network:

Homerun-App

Our network will allow you to:

  • Access school travel information in one convenient place.

  • Find and arrange carpools, travel buddies, walking and cycling groups, and other available travel options to and from school.

  • Message parents from school securely and without the need to share contact details.

  • Receive updates from your school community.

  • Help create safer streets and cleaner air for our children.
