 Friday 12th June 2026

Dear Families,

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the rain at Sports Day yesterday morning and refused to let the weather dampen our spirits.

The children were fantastic. Although there were a few soggy faces by the end, their dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm shone through at every stage.

My sincere thanks as well to our staff and wonderful team of volunteers who made the day possible—your support and effort are very much appreciated.

We are, of course, sorry to have had to cancel the staff and parent/carer races due to the worsening weather, but rest assured they will return next year. And a special well done to Year 6, who comprehensively beat the staff in the annual dodgeball match!

The overall winners will be announced at assembly on Monday.

In the meantime, we are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Summer Festival tomorrow - see the Friend's Corner below for the feast of entertainment and culinary delights that will be on offer.

Schönes Wochenende!

Patrick

What's been happening in and around school

Today, Years 3–6 enjoyed a visit from children's author Mitch Johnson, who spoke about his book Kick. He shared how his love of football inspired the story and discussed the realities faced by children around the world who help make the football shirts and trainers we wear every day. Mitch also highlighted the importance of reading, explaining how books help us develop empathy and understand the experiences of others.
