To celebrate our wonderful school JKPS, in Spring 2025 the children contributed to a special collaborative art project, led my parent Stefanie Posavec and supported by the Friends.
Each pupil created their own unique patterned square inspired by Judith Kerr’s artwork, which has been brought together to form a striking pixelated ‘Tiger, the beloved character from Judith Kerr’s classic story, The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

This colourful design will be transformed into a beautiful ceramic mosaic wall reminding us that we are both individuals and part of a greater community. The artwork will create a lasting and welcoming feature at the entrance to our school for children and families to enjoy for many years to come.
To help raise the final funds needed to install this unique artwork, we are offering a selection of special keepsakes inspired by the mosaic. Class Transitions for 2026-27

What's been happening in and around school

Finding ways to keep cool outside. Our outdoor space has come into it's own - we are so lucky to have it!

Year 4 put on an exceptional performance of The Invaders this morning. Year 4 - we are all so proud of you!

|
Year 4 had a fantastic day at the Horniman Museum, taking part in a workshop all about the Kingdom of Benin and the Benin Bronzes. Even though it was a very hot day, the children were full of energy and curiosity as they explored the exhibits and learned about the history and significance of these remarkable artefacts. They enjoyed asking questions, sharing their ideas and taking part in hands-on activities. It was a great day out and a wonderful way to bring our learning to life!

Year 1 are starting to think about the transition to Year 2. We reflected on what we enjoy, our worries about Year 2 and how we can overcome these worries with support from friends and our teachers! We shared what we love doing at home and school.

|
This term has been wonderful for all of our LAMDA pupils at Judith Kerr, and we would like to congratulate every pupil on their hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm in Speech and Drama classes.
Over the past few months the the pupils have worked incredibly hard developing their performance and speaking skills including work on projection, use of pitch/pace/pause and facial/vocal expression to create an engaging recital for an audience. All pupils have received regular feedback (stars and wishes) in their red LAMDA book to practice at home and improve their performances.
Well done to all of our LAMDA students for all their work this term! We are extremely proud of everything they have accomplished and look forward to seeing their continued success and development in September where they will be working towards their LAMDA exam. Keep up the fantastic work!

National Autistic Society coffee morning for parents & carers of autistic people.

This month our guest speaker is Mariama Kandeh the founder of Autism Voice who will discuss the support and services they offer to autistic families from the BAME community. Open to all London residents, the parents do not need to be residents in Lambeth to attend.

School attendance is mandatory for all students of compulsory school age. Whilst we understand that it isn't always possible to reach 100% attendance, we are fully committed to ensuring the highest levels of attendance to ensure we enable every student to meet their potential.

We hope everyone is surviving the heat, the new version of a school snow day (for those who grew up in the UK). The Friends provided ice lollies for those children in school on Thursday.
This week thank you to 🌵 Team Cactus Clan🌵 who did a special drop on behalf of the Friends.
We are into the busiest half term of the year with more school trips, year group camping, JKPS Got Talent and a Fun Day to come. All if this takes organisation - and parent volunteers are a vital part of that.
If every family can help with at least one event: many hands do make light work.

Gardening Days - 28th June and 12th July
We have two more gardening days planned for the term. Everyone is welcome and even half an hour helps maintain our lovely and nature friendly green space.
On 12th July we're particularly welcoming incoming Reception parents and those transitioning to Year 1 (and so using the bigger outside area). This is a great opportunity for the kids to get to know the space better and feel comfortable.
