With England's upcoming match generating plenty of excitement, we know that many of our children will be keen to watch and support the team alongside family and friends.

While we hope everyone enjoys the occasion, we'd like to remind families that school will be open as normal the following day and we will be expecting all pupils to attend on time, ready for learning. The DfE's attendance guidance is clear that pupils should attend school regularly and that absence due to tiredness after staying up to watch a sporting event would not normally be considered a reason for authorised absence.

We completely understand that national sporting events can be memorable family moments and provide wonderful opportunities for children to share in the excitement. However, we would encourage parents and carers to make decisions that help children get the rest they need to be successful in school the next day. We look forward to hearing all about the match and sharing in the excitement with our pupils.

Come on England — but come to school too! Thank you for your continued support.

Thank you to Carolina, Wynn and Ida, our fantastic Timi Champions. They play an important role in representing pupil voice and helping us understand what children at JKPS think about the issues that matter most to them.

Each summer, Timi Champions from across Anthem come together in central London for a special day of collaboration and learning. This year, Wynn and Ida had the opportunity to meet fellow Timi Champions and take part in a public speaking workshop, where they developed and delivered speeches about an issue they felt passionately about. Their chosen topic? Extending morning playtime to 20 minutes to help ensure children's wellbeing remains a priority!

The day also included a guided tour of London, giving pupils the chance to explore the city while building confidence and connections with children from other Anthem schools.

We would also like to say a special thank you to Carolina, who has been an absolutely incredible Timi Champion. Throughout her time in the role, she has been approachable, thoughtful, articulate and highly professional, always advocating passionately for her peers. We will be very sad to see her leave, but we wish her every success and happiness at her new school. Thank you for everything, Carolina! 🌟

ECO SCHOOL

Thanks to all the donations from our Eco Sale. Part of the money was spent on Litter Pickers to help us keep our school outdoor area clean, safe and litter free.

Year 5 have been out on the road today as part of their Bikeability training. This is such important learning for the children - understanding how to stay safe while cycling. 

Year 1 are true architects, engineers and builders! Inspired by our new book, Iggy Peck Architect, we created buildings using junk modelling. We used adjectives to describe our buildings.

As we complete our formal cycle of ACC meetings for the year, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Miss Natalie and our Timi Champions for their outstanding contributions. 

Over the past year, Carolina and Wynn, supported by Miss Natalie, have been excellent representatives of pupil voice. Through class surveys and discussions, they have gathered and shared pupils’ views on important whole-school initiatives, including our Amplifying Voices work. Their most recent survey received an impressive 300 responses, providing valuable insight into pupils’ experiences and perspectives. 

With Miss Natalie’s guidance, the Timi Champions carefully analysed this feedback, explored trends across different age groups and helped inform ACC discussions and future school improvements. 

We are delighted to welcome Ida as our new Timi Champion and look forward to the enthusiasm and fresh perspectives she will bring to the role.

We would also like to thank Carolina for her exceptional contribution over the past year. Her thoughtful, wise and thorough input has been invaluable, and she will be greatly missed. We wish her every success for the future.
