5th May 2023

Dear Families,

Another brilliant week full of trips, hard work, fundraising, ending in a royal celebration! We have loved seeing all the royal outfits today especially the creative ones of queen bees, famous singers and Egyptian pharaohs. We hope you have a wonderful long bank holiday and if you are celebrating the coronation, please let us know what you get up to!

Next week the Year 6 SATS test will begin. The Year 6 classes have worked so hard and we are so proud of them all. We wish them the very best of luck!

Happy Coronation to King Charles!

What a day of celebration for JKPS with the opportunity to "Dress as a royal" for the upcoming event of the coronation of King Charles. First, we want to say thank you so much for your donations for the Prince's Trust which we will announce in the next newsletter. Also, well done to children, parents and staff who helped to be part of the "Dress as a royal" day today! What a "crowning" bunch of outfits!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and please send us any photos if you are celebrating this weekend!

What has JKPS been up to this week?

EYFS Trip to Brockwell Allotments!

Reception had a wonderful trip to Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses this week where they learnt all about the lifecycle of a plant and the different types of plants we might find in the garden. They had an opportunity explore the amazing grounds and plant their very own beanstalks! They were beautifully behaved and represented JKPS so well. Fantastic job Reception!

Year 4 Trip to the Horiman Museum!

Year 4 loved their trip to the Horniman on Tuesday. They were explored real and replica artefacts from the Benin Kingdom, as well as finding out about 'the lost wax process' for creating brass plaques, and learning about how the museum is now working with the Nigerian government to return some of the original artefacts to Africa. This is living history!

Year 1 amazing scene!

This week Kuba from Malala Class in Year 1, has shared his fantastic home learning of making a scene with a cardboard box and some paper.

Year 3 Fossil Making

Year 3 created their own fossils in their science topic of rocks! This has been a great support for their topic of Stonehenge!

Share-a-thon update!

{alt_tag}

We hope your share-a-thon is going well and you are enjoying the opportunity to share, celebrate and read great stories together. If you haven't started yet don't worry, there is still plenty of time to share and read fabulous stories!

We have been so excited in Year 1 that we have created our own Share-a-thon trolley!

Also, in assemblies the teachers are creating their own story! Miss Keri started the story the first picture with just this image. See if your child can remember how it began and Miss Sara was continuing the story today! I wonder what will happen next...
