26th  May 2023

Dear Families,

Happy Friday! Well done to all the Year 2 children who worked very hard in their 'quizzes' and didn't give up. The results will be shared with you in their school reports due out at the end of term.

Please read this half-terms curriculum newsletters which celebrate the children's journey of learning for their topic.

A massive thank you to all the parents who raised money for our school resources - it makes the teacher's very happy. Our next step is for everybody to have their own refillable glue stick-so that we can save money and reduce waste.

We hope that everybody enjoys the mid-term break - the weather looks grand!

Jo

Celebrating Different Families - Rainbow Day

In Year 6 we will be learning about Harvey Milk in our 'Pride' unit. In Year 6, as part of the unit, the children will be researching many different types of families that exist in our community and beyond, and we would like to invite you to a special assembly to celebrate this. The message of the assembly will be that whilst there are lots of different families, they all have love in common.  Across the week, the children will look at the different types of families that can exist and this will culminate in creating a wall of love: if parents and children wish they can put up photographs and messages of love created in their PSHE sessions or from home. On the Friday 30th of June  we will have a 'rainbow day' where we invite everybody to wear bright colours and we will ask for a donation of a pound to raise money for purchasing books for our library and Year 6 will be selling a variety of edible rainbows.

☀️ We had a really lovely Gardening Day on Sunday. Together with the children we did a lot of weeding, mowing, cutting, looking after the fruit trees and staking them, putting up a net above the peas and taking out some old branches of the big oak tree. And we even found a little frog! 🐸 Many thanks to everyone for joining! 😃 Image preview
