16th  June 2023

Dear Families,

We've had a lovely week! On Wednesday we celebrated what would have been Judith Kerr's 100th birthday. We held a whole school assembly and discussed her life and her legacy.  We then all created our own 'chatter boxes' with acts of kindness which the children took home and hopefully bestowed onto you. As mentioned in last week's newsletter, we have asked the children to carry out acts of kindness in their class. Each class is trying to collect 100 acts, which we will share with you next week.

A big thank you to all the children who brought in their sponsorship reading money; if you have forgotten to bring yours in, please do as soon as possible.

Well done to the Year 1 and Year 4 children for completing their phonics screening checks and multiplication checks; you all did amazingly!

A big thank you to all those who helped organise the Summer Picnic last Saturday; the sun shone, the cakes looked amazing and the Y1 children sung beautifully. Betty in Year 6 was a musical star, and all the other activities made for a fabulous afternoon.

Have wonderfully sunny weekends!

Take part in a new HomeRun competition for the chance to win £100 of kids active wear vouchers and £2,000 for the Friends!

HomeRun, our school travel app, is on a mission to help schools achieve a net zero school run and they need our help! They have just launched a School Run Fun competition. To enter, ask your child to draw a picture of their school run journey, or to write a poem about it. Take a photo of their masterpiece and post it on our JKPS HomeRun feed.

The Prizes! One individual from each school will win £100 of kids active wear vouchers and two runners up will win £50 worth each. The three schools with the highest number of entries will win £2,000 to spend on greening, sustainability or sports initiatives. Only eight HomeRun schools have been selected to take part, so there is a great chance of winning. The competition is open until 30th June 2023 - please do give it a go!
