Friday 13th October 2023

Dear Families,

Happy Friday and end of the penultimate week. The children, as per usual, have been working very hard. In English, many are either completing their first Literacy Tree Writing Leaf book or beginning their new one. Please look below at some of their amazing accomplishments.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the Mog Gallery this coming Thursday to celebrate (and purchase) your children's children's Mog work, read some of our Black History month poems and spend time together as a community.

Next week, Year 1 and 2 visit the Dulwich Art Gallery. Please can we ask that everybody contributes to these outings so that we can plan for more. You can make your contribution via your child's Magic Bookings account.

A reminder that next Friday the children can come in wearing something red to mark Wear It Red Day and 'Show racism the red card'.

Finally, your children should have brought home their homework today along with their Christmas Card template.   Please could these be returned to school by Wednesday 18th October 2023.

Have a great weekend!

Jo

Do you play the trumpet or piano?

We're looking for confident players to support some traditional songs. Get in touch if you think this could be you!

-  FoJKPS Second Hand Uniform

We currently have quite a lot of long-sleeved polo shirts and good quality tights, so please don’t buy new ones as the weather turns colder, but email us at fojkps@gmail.com with your size requests instead.

We need your coat hangers!

We’re rearranging our stock of second-hand uniform. If you have spare hangers - especially the ones with the ‘bar’ and those with clips to hang trousers and shorts, please can you drop them off at the office?

Oktoberfest update.

This year our Oktoberfest raised an amazing £18,000! This will all go towards a variety of short and long term projects to be decided by the school, including facilities improvements and enrichment opportunities. This includes supporting Black History Month with classroom packs, providing buns, apple juice and lanterns for the St Martin’s celebration and the upkeep of the gardens. We are also buying the extra books the school requires to facilitate the curriculum. Previously, funds raised have gone towards laptop provision, setting up the school library and transforming the outdoor space. You can find more info on what previous fundraising has been spent on at our website. Thank you again to all who made this such an amazing day!

- Community WhatsApp channel

A reminder that we have a WhatsApp community where we only post the main announcements that go out via the class reps. It’s a way to keep information easy to find, as class groups can get quite busy at times with other messages. You can join it here.
