Friday 15th December 2023

Dear families and carers,

There's been festive cheer bubbling throughout JKPS this week - EYFS and KS1 putting on amazing performances, a scrumptious Christmas dinner, an amazing response to the Christmas boxes initiative (see picture below), and still time for a little boogie around the Christmas tree today. Thank you to everyone who came to last week's Winter Fair - it raised an incredible £5000 for the school! Thank you so much to the Friends for organising.

And here's a little message from us all at JKPS... it seems those elves have been up to their tricks again. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8sFriATkLc

Wishing you all a safe and wonderful winter break, and a very Merry Christmas!

Patrick

P.s. Check out the latest edition of the Mog Chronicle - thank you to parents, Christina and Jon and the team - https://mogchronicle.com/

Staffing Update

We must share with you that Ms Anita has resigned from her post as class teacher at Judith Kerr Primary School. Ms Vicky is also leaving us for new pastures. I am sure you will join us in wishing them both well in their future endeavours and thank them for all their hard work at JKPS.

We are now recruiting a Year 4 teacher as part of the Year 4 team. This will extend the current teaching and learning arrangements. Mr Patrick and Ms Georgia W will remain the class teachers for Yinka Shonibare and Olive Morris class, with the new teacher facilitating release time for them to fulfil leadership duties.

On a separate note, we would like to thank everyone who has expressed well wishes to Miss Jo in her absence. We look forward to welcoming her back next term.

Update on German provision

We are pleased to be able to tell you that our relationship with the Goethe Institute continues to go from strength to strength, with this provision continuing next term. We look forward to formalising our relationship with them even further, and strengthening our German provision across the school with their expertise.

KS1 Performance - The Polar Express

What a fabulous performance of the Polar Express by our KS1 children this week. They certainly brought the Christmas spirit to us!

Well done to the EYFS team for a wonderful sing-a-long performance on Wednesday. They shone like the stars that they are! Thank you to the wonderful EYFS team and thank you to all the parents who were able to attend.

And here's some of the lovely art that they have been creating... wunderbar!

JKPS Tigers vs Lyndhurst (18.11.23)
Top of the league, JKPS Tigers (girls), have had a great start to the season in the Lambeth and Southwark Primary School League, winning all their games except one. Weather has intervened recently, but for their last match vs Lyndhurst, they won 4-0!  Well played girls!

Sydenham College Language Ambassadors

It was great to host some Year 8 and 9 language learners from Sydenham School this week, who came in to observe our German provision. Great mutual inspiration all round.
