Friday 28th March 2024

Dear Families,

It's been another packed term and the children have excelled with their learning across the school and in all areas. And find out who the children voted as their teacher of the term in the Mog Chronicle.

Please see the end of this email for some key dates coming up in the Summer Term. Meanwhile, have a safe and restful spring break.

Warm wishes from us all.

Patrick

Yinka Shonibare's Class Trip to Tottenham Stadium

Last weekend, Yinka Shonibare Class had an amazing trip to Tottenham Stadium where they performed alongside other Anthem schools to a crowd of over 61,000. This was part of the pre-match entertainment for the Saracens vs Harlequins game. It was an incredible experience, the children were wonderful ambassadors for our school throughout the day, and some of them even found a new interest in rugby union.

Spring time Festivities in EYFS

Today, Early Years have been celebrating Spring by making some fabulous Spring Nest Cakes. They crushed up cornflakes and mixed them with chocolate and syrup. They even topped them off with an adorable chick. We can't wait to eat them! The children all looked adorable coming into school in their celebration outfits.

Meanwhile in Year 5

Linking to the Year 5 topic on Crime and Punishment, on Monday morning they had some important parent visitors, sharing their knowledge on the world of law! The children learnt about different types of lawyer and then re-enacted their own court case. Thanks to Claudia and Matt for their expertise.

Friends Corner

We made it to the end of term - wishing you a relaxing break and all the chocolate an Easter Bunny can carry! Please see below a wrap-up of the Friends’ activities this term and a look ahead to the Summer Term.

Our Gardening Days have been a success with great work done by families to keep the garden and woodland area looking great.

It was great to see so many people join our inaugural Friends Evening with a presentation on AI by Tim Rocktaschel followed by lively debate. We are planning to have a Friends evening each half term, with a quiz night planned for May 1st. You have plenty of time to swat up!

The Friends have been in close discussion with the school on potential projects inside and outside to further enrich the wonderful JKPS teaching environment. We are finalising Summer Term’s fundraising focus but can confirm the launch of a 10-Year JKPS Commemorative Artwork. The first stage is to narrow down the what, where and how to deliver something with longevity for the school. We have already had some interest from parents who wish to be part of a working group so please get in touch if this is something you think you can add to!
