Friday 24th May 2024

Dear Families,

A huge thank you to Samer Moukarzel and Amy Teichman for organising the gargantuan task of taking the children's photos this week; the weather certainly didn't help but we got through them all and can't wait to see the pictures.

It's been a busy week for curriculum enrichment this week - Year 4 went to Dulwich College to visit the James Caird, Y1 visited the Brockwell Community Greenhouse. Y5 were at the Imperial War Museum, Nursery went to Marsten Wildlife Centre and Year 2 had a Mary Seacole workshop! See below for more details.

Wishing you all wonderful half-term breaks.

Schöne Ferien!

Patrick

200 Reads!

Well done this week to Frankie (Y4) and Ffion (Y3)!

Thank you messages for Ms Jo

Our ACC are putting together a 'Thank You, Ms Jo' book, and are asking children to contribute artworks and/ or messages to it. The content is entirely up to how the children want to express their thanks, but here are some ideas:  self-portrait; picture of your classroom; picture of Ms Jo; picture of the green space; picture of your favourite place in the school; story about something really funny that happened at school; list of things you really love about the school; a copy of the cover of your favourite book that you read at school; mogs, lots of Mogs. And tigers. Lots of colour! And obviously best wishes/ thank you, etc. as you see fit.

Please do use the following format:

  • A4 Landscape size
  • Ordinary photocopier paper ideally (otherwise the book will get too thick)
  • Pens/ pencils ideally (water-colour might warp the pages)
  • Child’s name and year group on the front (in case we need to scan names on the back might get lost)
  • Leave a little bit of space on the left hand side for binding (i.e. don’t write your name there)

Please hand complete artworks/ messages to Frederik (Y5 parent) on the gate, or leave them for his attention in the school office after half-term. The messages will then be collated into a book that will be presented to Ms Jo.

Trips galore and more!

This week, Y1 classes enjoyed a trip to the Brockwell Community Greenhouses to take part in a workshop all about Living Things and their Habitats.

Please see the poster attached for other great opportunities this half- term at the Greenhouses, which are super local and a wonderful place to get up close to nature! Thank you again to all the parents who were able to support on this trip.

Deutschecke

As the chicks hatched in Early Years last week, Nursery children were introduced to this simple German song about a chick looking for its mother. Older children including our German speaking children might find it fun and catchy too.

“wo ist meine mama”

EYFS and German club children also love this action song about bees: Guck mal does Biene da.
