 Friday 8th May 2026

Dear Families,

It has been a wonderful week full of enrichment opportunities across the school. Our chicks arrived in Early Years, Year 5 spent an inspiring afternoon at Kew Gardens, Year 3 visited Dulwich Picture Gallery, and Year 1 performed at JAGS as part of the annual singing festival. It was especially lovely to hear how exemplary the Year 1 children’s behaviour was on the day – true ambassadors of JKPS and our values.

Enrichment is a key part of our provision at JKPS, and we are incredibly privileged to be able to offer such a wide range of opportunities, particularly here in London.

Looking ahead to next week, we wish all our Year 6 children and the team the very best of luck as they take their SATs. We know they will be amazing.

Schönes Wochenende!

Patrick

Next Friday, 15th May, is Wear It Green Day, a national day to raise awareness of mental health across the UK.
At Judith Kerr, we will be marking the day by inviting pupils to wear something green (the greener, the better!) and by taking part in a range of age‑appropriate classroom activities focused on wellbeing and mental health.

To support this, we kindly ask children to bring £1 into school on Friday 15th. All donations will go towards enhancing mental health resources within the school.

Spot the Maths Mistake

Making mistakes in maths is a valuable part of learning.

Can you spot Ms Ellie’s marvellous maths mistake? Let her know where she has gone wrong, by creating a poster, writing a letter or even creating a video! Give your responses to your class teacher and look out for Ms Ellie’s favourites in next week’s newsletter.

Perform Workshops

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were lucky enough to have Perform workshops this week. Shay from Perform transformed our bottom hall and classrooms into a world of pirates...seasick pirates. The children experienced immersive drama activities and learnt some songs too!

Singing Superstars

Judith Kerr WOWED us by singing and signing so confidently during the JAGS singing festival. They spread kindness and respect with their powerful solo song - The Kindness Song.
