Dear Families,
Thank you to all the families who attended the online Racial Awareness session last night. It was incredibly encouraging to see such strong engagement. In today’s assembly, we continued our discussion on “Not Racist vs. Anti‑Racist”, exploring what it means to be actively anti‑racist by working through a scenario and identifying anti‑racist responses. There are many helpful resources to support conversations at home at: https://www.antiracism.education/

Next week is Children's Mental Health Week. Throughout the week, we will be raising awareness and supporting pupils’ wellbeing, beginning with assemblies led by theSouthwark NEST Groundwork team. Activities will include yoga sessions with Ms Niya, an Internet Safety poster competition, a Wellbeing Fundraising Sale on Wednesday, EY drama workshops, West African drumming for KS2, and our annual Karneval on Friday afternoon. The theme for Friday will be “Love Yourself Day.”
Schönes Wochenende!

Key messages:
Karneval/ Fasching
Next Friday 13th February, children are invited to come to school in an outfit of their choice — this could be their comfiest clothes, their smartest outfit, a favourite costume, something red, or anything that shows off their personality and passions as we celebrate Karneval and Love Yourself Day!
Did you know? Karneval is a key annual event in many parts of Germany. Key traditions include wearing elaborate costumes, political satire floats, parades, and street parties, particularly in Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Munich.
