Thursday 25th July 2024

Dear Families,

What a year it has been and what a wonderful end to the term we have had: with exceptional productions from across the school, a Year 6 residential, academic performance results that we are all incredibly proud of, the brilliant Masked Teacher fundraiser, our summer picnics and Summer Fun Day, and so much more, all culminating with a truly fabulous Year 6 Graduation Ceremony yesterday evening. This all goes to show what an incredibly special school we have and none of it would happen without the collective effort and dedication of our children, families, teachers and wider community.  Thank you all so much.

As some children and teachers move on, and new teachers start to arrive, we are already excited about September and I am very much looking forward to officially taking on my new role as Headteacher. But before then, time for a break, and time to rest and reflect. On behalf of everyone and Judith Kerr Primary, I wish all our children and their families a lovely summer.

Schöne Ferien!

Patrick

Some final farewells

We would like to wish the following members of staff a warm farewell as they embark on new chapters and adventures, and thank them for everything they have brought to Judith Kerr: Ms Orla, Ms Katie, Ms Rubi, Ms Nikki, Ms Alison, Ms Maria and Ms Scarlett. We wish you all the best. We will miss you greatly and remember to come back and visit us!

Reads!

Well done to Wolfgang (Year 1) and Torben (Reception) for 300 Reads!

Are you interested in taking German lessons?

German learning is not just for the kids! An online german class has been set up just for our JKPS parents and carers, so we can learn German together. Classes will start online mid-September on Monday evenings and costs £150 for a 10 week course. There will be 2 groups - beginners and a more advanced group - depending on the level of the people that sign up. To find out more and to book your place, please contact  - susanne@germanteacher.uk.

*Susanne Wardle operates externally from JKPS.

For every ten people who sign up to the paid service, Susanne will be offering a free bursary place. If you would like to be on the waiting list for a possible bursary place, please contact admin@judithkerr.anthemtrust.uk with your expression of interest.

If you're looking for some summer holiday activities...

Friends Corner

Well done - we’ve made it to the end of the school year in one piece! We cannot say thank you enough to all the volunteers through the year who have given their time and energy to run so many wonderful events. We will especially miss all the Year 6 families who have supported the Friends and JKPS so much through the years - we wish you all the best on the next leg of your journey!

It was brilliant to see the children enjoying the fun day so much yesterday, many thanks to everyone who organised the day, signed up to help out making waffle batter and waffles, supervised the games, painted faces and stuck endless tattoos on. There’s been a lot to volunteer for this term and we really appreciate any time or help you can give.

Dates for your diary:
Thursday 5th September: Second-hand uniform sale after school.

We have jumpers and cardigans in all sizes, sports t-shirts, polo t-shirts (especially for girls and in smaller sizes), and SO MANY trousers. Do your bit for the planet and the wallet and buy second-hand this year!! Donations welcome, especially in advance of the sale. Please leave in the JKPS office.

Wednesday 11th September: Welcome drinks in the Half Moon pub.

Please join us for a chat and a drink at the start of the new school year.

Please share the link to our home page with new starters and don’t hesitate to email us at fojkps@gmail.com if you want to get involved. Have a restful break and see you on September 3rd!
