Friday 24th January 2025

Dear Families,

We are very much looking forward to our second Collaborative Review Day (CRD) of the year next Tuesday. This is when we invite other leaders from across our Trust into school to help us develop our teaching and learning. A key focus will be on how we use feedback to support children's next steps in their learning.

Don't forget to look up to the skies this week to see if you can spot the alignment of the planets! And for those celebrating Lunar New Year next week, Happy New Year for Wednesday!

Schönes Wochenende!

Thank you to everyone who turned up to the gardening day last Sunday. The children are loving the Willow Den!

From the Anthem Community Council

Thank you for your responses to the parent/carer survey. We will close the link on Sunday evening, so please complete with your views if you haven't already.

We are aware that there have been conversations today in the WhatsApp groups about inclusive language and race. We are all taking this seriously without seeing this as a response to individual children, or in relation to an individual incident. Our ACC are always working together with the school to think about how we can best support our community in having conversations that support inclusion, embrace diversity and anti-discrimination. School leaders are also committed to supporting this work with the children in ways that are developmentally appropriate.

If you have any concerns about this topic, you can raise them with the school in the first instance, or reach out to the ACC. We are keen to take this work forward through our ACC Inclusion Champion roles with Jade and Anna. This way, we can bring together the voices and experiences of all our community.

From around school this week...

Wonderful artwork from Year 5 inspired by the planetary parade

and super poems from Year 2 - If I was an explorer...

Safeguarding

For some children, the end of the school holidays can be a difficult time for a variety of reasons. The start of the new term comes with plenty of challenges, from social worries to the stress of ensuring they’re ready for upcoming lessons and learning. Click here for a free guide from The National College offering you expert advice on how you can be there for children and young people, as they transition back into their school’s routine.

Attendance

{item_alt_tag}

School attendance is mandatory for all students of compulsory school age. Whilst we understand that it isn't always possible to reach 100% attendance, we are fully committed to ensuring the highest levels of attendance to ensure we enable every student to meet their potential.
