Friday 14th March 2025

Dear Families,

Thank you to all the parents/carers who came in to support the gardening day last weekend. We are very excited about all the new planting that is going on and several children were incredibly proud to show off 'their' little bushes tagged with their names!

Due to all the other things happening in school over the past and coming weeks, we have decided to postpone our celebration of Science Week until early in the summer term. Thank you though, to the scientists in our community who have offered to come in and talk to different classes, we will definitely be taking you up on the offer. Watch this space for more about Science Week soon.

Next week, we have a double celebration: Neurodiversity Celebration Week and #Shout Out For German Week! In our KS2 assembly, we watched a video about what it means to be neurodivergent and then sang our favourite German song about spring - Frühblüher || Kinderlieder zum Lernen. Don't forget to join us for 🇩🇪☕🍰 Kaffee und Kuchen on Friday 21st March, 3pm - 6pm.

Schönes Wochenende!

Patrick

Key messages:

Last week, we congratulated two of our pupils (Emily, Y6 and Lily, Y3) for having their work published as part of the Young Writers Competition 2025. Congratulations also go to Ava (Y6), Rowan (Y4) and Gaia (Y1) who also had their work published. What an achievement!

Snacks for clubs: Please note that snacks are not provided during clubs, but we do encourage parents and carers to send children in with a healthy snack that they can have at the beginning of their after-school club.

More young writers!

We've talked a lot recently about how much we love reading at JKPS, but have a look at his writing from some Year 1 children (inspired by their class text The Odd Egg) and by Agnes in Year 2 (inspired by The Bear and The Piano). Fabulous!

Strings in Year 6

How lovely to walk past the Year 6's this morning as they were having their violin lessons with Mr Aiden. They were all clearly engaged with learning the different notes whilst mastering how to use the bow.
