On Wednesday, our Year 6's visited the Year 2's and told them all about the hist of the Rainbow Flag and why it is so important. This follows their study of Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag. The Year 2's then created these wonderful pictures.

This week Year 5 became structural engineers and designed their own model buildings using spaghetti and mini marshmallows. The aim was to create a structure that could withstand an earthquake. This links to their Humanities learning about Japan, a country that experiences many earthquakes due to the 4 tectonic plates it sits on top of. They also learned about the innovative building techniques used in Japan to protect people and keep buildings safe during a quake.

This week the year 1 classes took part in a fantastic mark makers workshop at Dulwich Picture Gallery. They began by visiting the gallery hall and looking at a painting ‘The Road by the River’ to inspire their own work back in the workshop, where they created their own scene scapes in response to different sounds and pieces of music and how it made them feel. Their What a wonderful way to spend the day. Amazing creativity year 1! From Ms Sarah and Ms Grace

Year 5 took part in a fun and hands-on bike maintenance workshop this week. They learned how to fix common problems like punctures, loose brakes, and slipped chains, as well as how to stay safe on the road.
Pupils practised these skills in small groups and gained confidence in looking after their bikes. They're now excited to put their knowledge into practice on future rides!

Newsletter extract: Year 3 went on a wonderful trip to Butser Ancient Farm to consolidate their learning about the Romans. They explored Roman villas, fed goats and even made beautiful jewellery. What made it better was the staff sharing that they’ve been the best group of the week with beautiful behaviour and super enthusiasm - well done Year 3!
