Just to remind parents, Southwark Council have launched a consultation for changes to the zebra crossing and pavement outside the school on Half Moon Lane. The proposals include widening the pavement on the school side and raising the zebra crossing to slow traffic down. Councillor James McAsh is due to visit the school next week and join a KS2 assembly to include the children's voices in the consultation process.  Please have a look and respond to the consultation too and let’s make the journey to school safer for everyone. Deadline for responses is 9th December. https://engage.southwark.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/half-moon-crossing

🍁 GARDENING DAY - this Saturday, 29th November, 11am-3pm 🍁

🪴 Please feel very welcome to join us preparing the school garden for winter. There is lots to do, and any pair of hands - little ones and big ones - are helpful, even just for 1/2 hour 🪴

Thank you to those parents/carers who have signed up to the first of our Racial Awareness sessions in school on Friday, 5th December. The session will start at 9:15am and last 90 minutes. If you are interested in coming - please register your interest here: Racial Identity Awareness Workshop  – Fill in form

The session will be led by Natalie Eve Roper from @Embrace. During the 90minute workshop, we will be exploring how racial identities have developed in our society, engaging in self-reflection and group sharing exercises to explore our own perspectives around racial identity, and learning how to become more racially conscious around identity.

What's happening in school

Year 4 were drawing lightning in Art today, in line with their Electricity topic ⚡️

Year 1 have been learning about programming through beebots. We have been giving beebots instructions to navigate different obstacles. To bring our computing unit on beebots to a close, we created beebot guides to give to people who are unsure about how to use a beebot! We also tested out our guides to see if people would be able to follow them!

Meanwhile, Years 5 and 6 had their anti-racism workshops this week, focusing on The Power of Unity & Solidarity. They were incredibly animated in their workshops and they led to some powerful discussion. Thank you again @Embrace

Attendance

{item_alt_tag}

School attendance is mandatory for all students of compulsory school age. Whilst we understand that it isn't always possible to reach 100% attendance, we are fully committed to ensuring the highest levels of attendance to ensure we enable every student to meet their potential.
