Friday 21st  June 2024

Dear Families,

What a fabulous production by the Year 1's this morning where they performed Lost and Found. They sang their hearts out and were beaming throughout. Wunderbar! We're looking forward to Year 2's production next week.

Next Friday (28th June) we have a 'Rainbow Day' where we invite everybody to wear bright colours to celebrate equality and inclusion. In Year 6, as part of the Harvey Milk Pride unit, the children have been researching the origins of the rainbow flag. They will be sharing what they have learnt in an assembly on Friday - the flag as a symbol of hope and equality.

After school the Y6 children will be selling their rainbow products - both edible and non edibles! This money will go to a charity of their choice and also towards their end of year celebrations.

Schönes Wochenende!

Patrick

What an adorable adaptation of Oliver Jeffer's Lost and Found it was. Well done to the Year 1's for such a lovely production this morning, the children and Year 1 team should be incredibly proud.

Lost and Found has been one of their Literacy Tree texts this year and definitely a favourite.

Deutschecke

Our Zungenbrecher is a challenging one this week... W makes a V sound in German, ie = ee, ei = eye, ß = as and the double dots, Umlauts, over vowels changes the sound. ä = ae, ü= ue, är = air, ūr = or Try smiling at the same time as saying the same as the English sound.

Wir Wiener Waschweiber würden weiße Wäsche waschen, wenn wir wüssten, wo warmes Wasser wäre.

We Viennese washerwomen would wash white laundry if we knew where warm water was.
