School lunches
Most children have a hot school meal, prepared from fresh ingredients daily by cooks from Harrisons, our school caterers, in the school kitchen.
We encourage all children to have a hot school meal. Daily meal options include:
- Meat or fish
- Vegetarian choice
- Freshly baked bread
- Salad bar
- Fresh fruit
Meals are planned around a three-week menu cycle, meeting all government dietary requirements for schools. The menus for Autumn 2023 term are available below. If your child has any dietary requirements, please tell us by email or inform the school reception desk.
Packed lunches
If you wish, your child can also bring in a packed lunch. Please ensure that it contains a healthy balance of ingredients, for example a sandwich, some raw vegetable, and some fruit. Sweets and any drinks other than plain water are not allowed in school — please don’t include them in your child’s lunch box.
Kindly note that because of the risks from seed and nut allergies, we do not allow nuts and seeds, or products containing them, onto the school premises.
Water bottles
We encourage children to drink adequately while in school, so please give your child a named water bottle to bring in each day. Water bottles should only have water in, please.
Snacks
The school provides fruit and vegetables as snacks, along with milk in Reception. All other children are welcome to bring in a snack for morning break if they would like to, and for after-school care if they attend (recommended). The snack must be healthy (no crisps, biscuits, cakes or bars) and must be nut and seed free.
It is vital that nothing containing nuts or seeds be brought onto the school premises as we have several children who have severe allergies; they are prone to reactions even if they have not come into direct contact with those foods.
